A series of art works are to be displayed promoting the fact that London is open to the world for business.

So where are these works of art? Are they in Paris, New York, Milan? Are they where international investors pondering where to invest their international investments are based?

Of course not! They are on the London Underground. In London. Where Londoners will see them.

It’s all very sensible to tell the outside world that at least one part of the UK voted to stay in the EU, and unlike the provinces doesn’t seem to be suffering a spate of racist attacks against our fellow humans.

But why preach to the converted by putting the art in London — it should be where the potential audience is, which is by dint of the point of the campaign, is not in London.

If you are an international businessman who happens to be in London soon, do try to notice the art work while you are here.

But if you are one of the vastly larger number of international businessmen living outside London and worried about investing in London, lets hope that the LondonIsOpen campaign deigns to reach you as well some time soon.

After all, you are the main audience for it.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.
