Photographing escalators with their tops off is a frustratingly difficult task as they tend to have a decency preserving curtain around the defrocking works that are going on.

A new set of escalators being installed at Waterloo for their new raised shopping area.

The old escalators that used to take passengers between Waterloo East and the main station. Photo taken when peering through an observation window.
And finally, the escalators that run up to Westminster Circle/District Line westbound from the Jubilee Line have works going on. Invisible from the sides, but the escalators are in a glass box, so easy to look down on.

Get yourself down to Bermondsey underground station. It has a privacy curtain but you can look down on it from street level through the glass. Hopefully that will satisfy your urges! :)
