A Radical Walk starting at Paddington Square and ending at Cato Street.
We will explore some of the history of St Mary's hospital and contrast the state of some of its buildings with the new development of Paddington Basin.
We will meander through some early 19th century streets to Cato Street where conspirators met in 1820 with plans to overthrow the government.
One of the themes will be the struggle for basic rights - free speech, right to assembly and protest - in the 1820s and what has happened to those rights in the 2020s.
Our companions and guides for the walk will include EP Thompson's 'The Making of the English Working Class' and Paul Foot's 'Red Shelley'.
