Charles Spencer: The Hunting of the King

This event has finished Took place on: Tuesday, 16th Jan 2018

 £12.00

Charles Spencer tells the enthralling story of Charles II's escape from England following defeat at the battle of Worcester in 1651, when he was forced to flee for his life with a huge price on his head to escape the men who wanted him - and all traces of the monarchy - dead.

Charles Spencer was educated at Eton College and obtained his degree in Modern History at Magdalen College, Oxford.  He was a reporter on NBC’s Today Show from 1986 until 1995, and is the author of five books, including Sunday Times bestseller Blenheim: Battle for Europe (shortlisted for History Book of the Year at the 2005 National Book Awards), Prince Rupert: The Last Cavalier, Killers of the King and To Catch a King. In 2003, Earl Spencer founded the Althorp Literary Festival at Althorp, his family's ancestral seat in Northamptonshire.
