Set your alarm clocks, because tickets to the most boring event in London go on sale next week.

They are being released in batches, so there will be multiple sales dates — but the first for your diary is 1pm on Fri 28th Feb, and the second batch a week later, also at 1pm on 7th March.

They are still putting the details of the conference together but expect an eclectic mix of talks about seemingly very boring topics that are often actually really quite fascinating.

People have previously talked about sneezing, toast, IBM tills, the sounds made by vending machines, the Shipping Forecast, barcodes, yellow lines, London shop fronts, the television programme Antiques Road Trip and the features of the Yamaha PSR-175 Portatune keyboard.

All very boring, but not at all boring.

Tickets can be bought from here — from next Friday that is.

Boring IV will be held at Conway Hall on Saturday 31st May 2014.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
