Just a heads up for one of those events you need to book tickets for sharpish.

Armed Forces Day, 27 June

On June 27th, a day of events will happen at the Chatham Dockyard as part of the national Armed Forces Day – which will be free to watch, but only for ticket holders.

The day will commence with a Celebration Parade through Chatham town centre featuring contingents from the three armed forces led by a Royal Marines Band.

Throughout the day, displays and activities will take place on land, water and in the air as some of the very best assets of the armed forces swing into action.

In the air, there will be flypasts by the Red Arrows and Hurricane, Spitfire and Lancaster of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Ticket request forms can be downloaded here (a separate evening event is sold out).

In related news, a veterans march over London’s Tower Bridge along with a flypast will occur on Friday 26th June at noon.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
