Just a silly one — but the terms and conditions for tours of the disused Down Street tube station have been changed.

That, along with changes to the description text might suggest that more tours are about to be announced, but it was the changes to the T&Cs for the visit which made this tube geek snigger a bit.

The new T&Cs state: “Smoking is prohibited within the Station.”

Nothing odd there, unless you have the old T&Cs and notice an amusing mistake in them…

“Smoking is not prohibited within the Station.”

Whoops!

Maybe Churchill was on one of last year’s tours, in spirit at least.

They’ve also changed the number of steps down to the platform from 180 steps to 122 steps.

Keep an eye on the Transport Museum website for release dates when new tickets are available.

Why is that? Has some part of the descent been replaced by a lift?
