Tickets Alert: London Concours luxury car exhibition

A luxury event full of people sipping champagne while looking at expensive cars might not be the sort of thing I would normally write about.

However, if you drill into the ticket prices, it turns out that entry can be quite affordable if you’re the sort of person who really likes looking at luxury motor vehicles.

The London Concours, which takes place in the grounds of the Honourable Artillery Company on Wednesday 19th AUgust, bills itself as “the UK’s first major automotive event to take place since February”.

Somewhere between 80 and “nearly 100” of the world’s most expensive cars will be on display on the cricket lawn and practice grounds of the territorial army just around the corner from Old Street.

While the headline prices suggests that tickets start at £40 upwards, if you drill down a bit, it turns out a half-day entry (10am-2pm or 2pm-7pm) is a rather more affordable £25, which isn’t bad for a half-day out.

According to the organiser, there will be “displays of ‘The Lost Marques’ – a collection of car manufacturers lost to time – ‘The Speed of Sand’, which brings together the Hot Rods that annually gather on Pendine Sands, ‘The Era of the Hypercar’, which collects the latest and most innovative performance cars, and more.”

With modern social distancing in effect, they’ve taken over more ground to spread the cars out a bit more and limited the entry ticket numbers.
