The big three – the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, and the V&A Museum have all announced the dates they will reopen following the lockdown.
The three museums say that they are staggering opening dates and times to reduce footfall on Exhibition Road and ease visitor flow at nearby underground stations.
The Natural History Museum
Reopens on Wednesday 5th August
Entry is free – but tickets must be pre-booked here or by phone on 020 7942 5725, from 16th July onwards.
The majority of the Museum’s galleries will be open alongside its five-acre gardens. The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition and the annual ice rink are both planned to open in October.
Will only open Wed-Sun 11am-6pm initially – closed Mon and Tue.

The V&A Museum
Reopens on Thursday 6th August.
Entry is free – but tickets must be pre-booked here.
The V&A will reopen in phases. From 6 August, all of the ground floor collection galleries will open, along with the lower ground floor. The first and second-floor galleries will reopen on 27th August.
The exhibition, Kimono: Kyoto to Catwalk will also reopen on 27th August for an extended run.
Will only open Thur-Sun 11am-3pm initially – closed Mon-Wed.

The Science Museum
Reopens on Wednesday 19th August.
Entry is free – but tickets must be prebooked here or by phone on 020 7942 4000.
Not all of the galleries will re-open at the same time. Galleries that will be closed on Wednesday 19 August include the Pattern Pod, The Garden and the Secret Life of the Home.
The energy cafe and shop will be open.
