Look to the skies, for the red, white and blue of the Red Arrows will be gracing the skies of East London on Saturday (21st July 2018).

They will be flying a route that takes in east London — Romford, Leyton, and Hackney — they heading north toward Waltham Abbey via Walthamstow, before looping back to go over Chipping Ongar.

The flypast is due to the Women’s Hockey World Cup which is taking place at the Lee Valley Hockey & Tennis Centre (north end of the Olympic Park), and will take place at 1:50pm.

As they need to fly there and back, they fly over a number of other sites and they will approach from the East over Romford at 1:46pm, then the “Leyton Flypast” at 1:50pm.

Heading northwards over Hackney and probably up the Lee Valley/Walthamstow area towards Waltham Abbey for 1:51pm (just one minute commute), then heading over towards Chipping Ongar a couple of minutes later.

If you’re catching the steam train from the Epping Ongar Railway, you’re in for a treat.

So look to the skies over east London just before 2pm for a treat.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
