Victorian chair maker, Philip Clissett, brought the iconic Ladderback Chair to the attention of the Cotswold Arts & Crafts Movement. An example of the famous chair stands proudly in the home of Emery Walker at 7 Hammersmith Terrace. But could it have been made by a ‘bodger’? Volunteer-cum-iconoclast Gavin Shreeve investigates.
