Join Professor Dame Sue Black as she breathes new life into the taboo subject of death.
From advising crime writers on forensics for their novels to investigating mass fatalities due to natural disasters, Sue Black, one of the world’s leading anatomists and forensic anthropologists, has come to know the many faces of death.
To celebrate the paperback publication of All That Remains, Sue will be discussing her life and career, using key cases to explore how forensic science has developed, and examining what her life and work has taught her. She’ll bring compassion, humanity and humour to the one thing we all experience.
Sue will be in conversation with author and social historian, Hallie Rubenhold, whose book The Five, The untold lives of the women killed by Jack the Ripper is published this February. In it, she tells the story of the women killed by Jack the Ripper, dispelling the myths around them and giving a voice to the victims, focusing on their lives as well as their deaths.
All tickets include a copy of All That Remains. This is a opportunity to get your hands on the book at a discounted price (RRP. £8.99). Books will be available for collection on the night.
Sue Black and Hallie Rubenhold will be signing books after the event.
The Five, The untold lives of the women killed by Jack the Ripper by Hallie Rubenhold will be available for purchase.
Part memoir, part science, part meditation on death, All That Remains is compassionate, surprisingly funny, and it will make you think about death in a new light.
