Ahead of Pride in London 2017, Rebecca Newell unearths hidden LGBTQ stories in the National Army Museum’s collections.
In partnership with the Art Fund, we’ve been exploring stories in our collections relating to LQBTQ experiences in the army.
How can we start researching LGBTQ experiences in the army? What stories do our collections hold? And how can curators unearth them?
Rebecca Newell will discuss these questions as well as outlining the challenges of uncovering hidden stories, undertaking new collecting and reviewing existing archive material.
Rebecca Newell is a curator at the National Army Museum.
