Jackanory 50th Anniversary

This event has finished Took place on: Sunday, 13th Dec 2015

 Free

Join the Children’s Media Foundation as they celebrate fifty years since the launch of the iconic storytelling series Jackanory, the much-loved legend of BBC Children’s television. Having featured a cavalcade of famous actors and illustrators and told countless adored stories over its 30 year run--most of them adapted from published books by some of the most famous authors in children’s literature--Jackanory holds a special place in many of our hearts.

This special event at Foyles brings together an author, performer, illustrator and director of Jackanory to discuss its enduring popularity and reveal some of the behind-the-scenes magic and mayhem. Clips from the show and some special guest appearances in the Jackanory story chair will provide an illuminating and nostalgic pre-Christmas afternoon’s entertainment.

Doors open at 3pm for a 3:30pm start, and your ticket includes a post-event reception from 5pm-6pm.
