'Guns and Rain': reflecting back on writing about the Zimbabwe anticolonial revolution

A public conversation with David Lan to reflect back on the writing of his book Guns and Rain.

David Lan is a South African-born British playwright, filmmaker, theatre director and social anthropologist. He is the Artistic Director of the Young Vic and has been appointed Consulting Director of the Performing Arts Center in Manhattan. He is author of Guns and Rain: Guerrillas and Spirit Mediums in Zimbabwe which is based on his doctoral research in Anthropology at the LSE.

Alpa Shah (@alpashah001) is an Associate Professor of Anthropology at the LSE. She is author of In the Shadows of the State: Indigenous Politics, Environmentalism and Insurgency in Jharkhand, India.

Department of Anthropology (@LSEAnthropology) hosts a series of lectures, seminars and workshops.
