Upminster Windmill's monthly open weekend

Upminster Windmill has been extensively restored and is now open one weekend per month from Spring to Autumn.

Their open days offer the opportunity to:

Experience the marvel of the sails and machinery turning (subject to wind conditions)

Chat with their guides and explore the interpretation material to learn how the windmill worked

On a clear day, experience views across London from the upper windows

Learn more about the history of the site, the recent restoration and the role of wind power through time through digital touchscreen technology in our visitor centre

The sails and main drive shaft through the mill will be turning if weather conditions permit.
