London is a city forged on history, yet how can we be utilising this to support equitable and inclusive regeneration and economic growth?
London has over the past 2000 years accumulated a rich collection of historical buildings. With more than 30 conservation zones in The City of London alone, the capital offers a diverse and one-of-a-kind historical offer, that competes with cities around the world. Yet how can these assets be better utilised and supported across the capital? Not only do historical buildings have a public offer in supporting tourism and city footfall but they can also enhance local pride and play key roles in regeneration schemes–connecting local histories to an area.
Yet how do we begin to work with our local historical assets in order to revitalise our towns and cities? How do we begin incorporating historical narratives with new ones? What can our historical buildings offer the public and how do we begin to provide a more equitable experience for our city's shared history?
