History of Chancery Lane Tube Station

25th Jan 2003A 1992 Stock train derailed at the station on this day, injuring 32 passengers, after a motor became detached from the train.
25th Jun 1934The station was rebuilt in its current location with escalators and the new station entrance opened on this day. It opened as Chancery Lane (Gray's Inn), although the suffix later fell out of use.
30th Jul 1900The station opened on this day, although at a different entrance on the north side of the road -- where Chancery Station House is today.
