What does it means to parent in a period of significant social and technological change?
Join Sonia Livingstone as she reveals how parents are forging new terrority, with little precedent or support. Her extensive research has covered a range of parents in the UK, from all walks of life, parenting children from toddlers to teenagers.
In the decades it takes to bring up a child, parents face challenges that are both helped and hindered by the fact that they are living through a period of unprecedented digital innovation.
This lecture reveals how digital technologies give parenting struggles a distinctive character, moving beyond panicky headlines to offer a deeply researched exploration of the issue.
Copies of Sonia's latest book, 'Parenting for a Digital Future: How Hopes and Fears about Technology Shape Children's Lives', will be available to purchase at the end of the talk.
