Ash Kotak, a journalist, playwright, and the founder and CEO of AIDS Memorial UK, will be our guest speaker. He will mainly be talking about the Project to raise a memorial to the people who have lived and died of HIV/AIDS.
In addition, Ash will talk about his work in the LGBTQ+ community during the AIDS pandemic, the play he is writing about Freddie Mercury and his growing awareness that there should be a memorial to the people who have lived and died of HIV/AIDS. The memorial will be erected on Tottenham Court Road near the clinic where the first man known to have HIV was diagnosed and treated and became a beacon of hope (and despair) for many over the years.
The event will be led by Trevor Wood FRSA, Network lead and Ambassador for AIDS Memory UK who are campaigning to erect a memorial to those who died of AIDS.
