Demography is changing the religious landscape in Europe and in Britain. But how are these changes likely to play out, and what could they mean for social integration?
Drawing on his work at Pew Research Center, Conrad Hackett will reveal the state of religious identity and commitment in Europe, before a panel discusses the implications for how different communities co-exist in modern society.
Speakers include:
Conrad Hackett, Associate Director of Research and Senior Demographer at Pew Research Center.
Linda Woodhead, Professor in the Department of Politics, Philosophy and Religion, and Director of the Institute for Social Futures at Lancaster University.
Sunder Katwala, Director of British Future.
David Voas, Professor of Social Science and Head of Department at UCL.
Bobby Duffy, Professor of Public Policy and Director of the Policy Institute, King's College London (chair).
This event will be followed by a drinks reception.
This is a free event, which means we overbook to allow for no-shows and to avoid empty seats. While we generally do not have to turn people away, this does mean we cannot guarantee everyone a place. Admission is on a first come, first served basis.
Please note we may video and take photos at the event for our own internal and external marketing purposes – if you would prefer not to be featured, please let us know in advance or make yourself known to a member of the events team on the night.
