“Global Forensics in the 21st Century”: the King’s Forensics Symposium is a two day event being held on 3rd and 4th September 2018 at Bush House, King’s College London.
King's has had an active, dedicated forensic science research programme since 1978 and has always worked closely with practitioners to ensure that our research addresses their fundamental questions and most important needs.
King’s Forensics, part of the Department of Analytical, Environmental & Forensic Sciences in the School of Population Health & Environmental Sciences, comprises five key research and teaching groups:
Analytical Toxicology & Addiction Science
DNA Analysis & Forensic Genetics
Drug Control Centre & Anti Doping Testing in Sport
Environmental Forensics
Forensic Biochemistry
This symposium showcases that research.
Plenary and Core sessions will be presented by international experts and researchers from the group. Events will include lightening and poster presentations, updates from external partners and panel discussions, followed by prize giving.
We will be highlighting current collaborations (including the Ministry of Justice, the Metropolitan and City of London Police, Forensic Science Directorates, the World Anti-Doping Association (WADA) and the Defence Science & Technology Laboratory (DSTL)) alongside our own research and accredited forensic science service provision.
The two-day programme will focus on the modern challenges facing governments, police and justice departments as well as to researchers, educators and service providers. Sessions will cover Forensic Genetics, Forensic Toxicology, Sports Doping, Forensic Biochemistry, Discovery, Digital, Environmental and Wildlife Crime.
We extend a warm invitation to colleagues from within government, industry and academia. The symposium is free but registration is essential. Please register using your professional email address. You may be asked for confirmation of institution/organisation.
