We are proud to announce the NEW Wex Photo Video Show!
Held at our flagship store in London’s Commercial Road, our very first Wex Photo Video Show will be the perfect chance for photographers and videographers of all abilities to meet our suppliers, and get hands-on with our extensive range of photo and video gear.
Over two days, we’ll be hosting a range of inspiring seminars from industry experts, as well as offering exclusive show day deals, photo opportunities, and a fantastic prize giveaway.

Friday 29th June, 12pm-2pm
Film Structure and Stories – Seminar from Jeff Wood, Sponsored by Sony.

Event videographer Jeff Wood will be joining us to share how he creates documentary and inspirational wedding videos. He will focus on how a range of techniques enhance storytelling. Jeff’s approach demonstrates the importance of correct film structure in order to keep your audience’s attention and trust from beginning to end, just like the Hollywood professionals. Jeff uses a range of equipment inclusive of the Sony A7S Mark I and II, Zeiss lenses and Sony lenses. This engaging talk is best suited to video professionals and enthusiasts, but is open to photographers and videographers of all abilities.
Jeff Wood is recognised by many international companies and organisations as an industry leader, and has worked alongside Sony Imaging (UK), Mediazilla (USA), Our Week in Video (UK), ANV (Italy), The Wedding Industry Awards (UK), and Shadows and Light (UK).  Now shooting events of every scale and budget all over the globe, he has cemented his position amongst the elite in the industry.  In addition to his videography work, Jeff also shares his experience and knowledge leading many workshops across Europe.

More Than An Image – Lens Choices when Creating Branded Content - Seminar from Forward's Tom Martin
Tom Martin will be sharing with us his knowledge of lenses and filters suitable for creating branded content. This will include an overview of stills lenses with autofocus, cine glass, cine lenses, and the pros and cons of each. Drawing on his experience filming our More Than An Image series, Tom will talk about which lenses were used and why on each production, as well as highlighting the creative details essential for producing award-winning content.
Tom is an award-winning filmmaker, cinematographer and creative director at video production agency, Forward, founded in 2010. With an extensive knowledge of both the creative elements and technical aspects of filmmaking, Tom is most at home behind the camera, lighting and crafting beautiful images, and directing engaging stories. Over the last seven years, Tom and his team have worked with brands and businesses across the world, and were awarded two Royal Television Society East Awards earlier this year for their work with us on our #MoreThanAnImage series.

Professional photographer Peter Neill will be joining us on the second day of our Wex Photo Video Show to share his journey into the competitive world of music photography. Learn about his business success factors and the soft skills necessary to thrive in such a volatile industry, including social media strategies for photographers and new skills to learn. Peter will reveal his shooting technique, discussing the equipment and software he uses to get great results every time. He will discuss SLR vs mirrorless technology, and touch upon why he chooses to use Sony’s A7S Mark II and the A7R Mark III in his own work.
Peter Neill is a prominent figure in the music photography industry, and specialises in working with bands in all settings be it at the back of the tour bus, in the studio, or on the stage. His clients include Queen, Justin Timberlake, The Script, U2, Rick Astley, Elbow, Will.i.am, and many more. Born in Ireland, Peter currently resides in London.
 

Saturday 30th June, 2pm-4pmFashion and Beauty Photography with Fujifilm XF Lenses – Seminar from Andy Hoang. 
Andy will talk about his journey into becoming a fashion and commercial photographer. This will include an overview of the gear he uses, the secrets behind his shots, and which lenses are best fitted to different shooting scenarios. With the assistance of a model, he will then demonstrate the power of Fujifilm XF lenses. The shots he takes will be tethered to one of our screens, allowing you to see his creative process come to life and ask any questions you may have.
Andy Hoang is a London based Vietnamese British fashion and commercial photographer who specialises in studio lighting. Inspired by edgy, sleek and glossy styles such as old school grunge to modern couture, he has been published on the front covers of magazines from London to New York as well as working with brands nationwide. Having used various systems such as Hasselblad and Canon, he has now converted to shooting with Fujifilm X-H1 and Fujifilm GFX 50S systems.
