Museum Late at the Postal Museum

Put on your best Christmas jumper and grab a glass of mulled wine! We’ve got a Christmas choir, festive exhibition talks and more at our first ever adults only Museum late. You can even roll back the years and write your very own letter to Santa (no, you’re not too old!). Who knows, you might even get a reply!

Christmas carols with the Royal Mail Choir

Get into the festive spirit with the Royal Mail Choir. Their renditions of postal pop songs and festive classics will get even your most Bah! humbug friends tapping their feet.

The choir is led by the professional composer David Ogden and is formed of postmen and women, and other Royal Mail staff.

Festive spotlight talks

Join our elves and discover Christmas stories from The Postal Museum exhibition through this series of short spotlight talks. See the first known Christmas card, uncover one of the world’s longest running ad campaigns and reveal the Princess Mary Christmas tin, presented to British troops during the First World War.

Dear Santa…letter writing station

What was top of your Christmas list as a kid? Relive the magical childhood tradition of writing a letter at Christmas-time. We’ve got everything you need to get your letter written and delivered all the way to Reindeerland. Who knows, maybe you’ll even get a reply…

Shopping and Café

Tick some items off your Christmas list at our museum shop. We’ve got gifts big and small for the book geek, the cuddly toy devotee or the art lover.

An array of food and drink will be available including the classics; mince pies and mulled wine, seasonal specials like pumpkin, chocolate & walnut cake and other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Available to purchase from The Counter throughout the evening.

Event Details

Doors open at 18.30. Tickets available online and on the door. The Museum Late is taking place at The Postal Museum (Mail Rail ride and Mail Rail exhibition won’t be open). Activities are available on a first come first serve.
