An evening of presentations and discussions exploring the way that the world has been divided up into territories, with often arbitrary borders drawn on the global map.

These lines and demarcations continue to be at the root of nationhood and identity, power and conflict. With Stuart Elden, Professor of Political Theory and Geography, University of Warwick and Tim Marshall, former Diplomatic Editor and foreign correspondent for Sky News, and author of the bestselling Prisoners of Geography: Ten Maps That Tell You Everything You Need to Know About Global Politics.

Chaired by BBC World News Today presenter Philippa Thomas.
