US Firms in the City Panel

This event has finished Took place on: Tuesday, 17th Jan 2017

Lean teams, high salaries, long hours, what other things do you think of when you hear "US Firm"?
One of KCLLS' most popular events of the year, the US Firms in the City Panel aims to make you stop and think.
Ever wondered what life is like beyond the Magic Circle? Do you think you're up to the challenge of working in an American firm? How different are the lifestyles and cultures really like?
Joining us for the night, we are honoured to have 5 lawyers who would like to share their candid views from the following US Firms:

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP
Kirkland & Ellis International LLP
Sidley Austin LLP
Latham & Watkins LLP
Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP

It will be run following a 5-panel discussion, beginning with a moderated discussion, followed by an open floor questions-and-answer session and ending with a drinks reception.
Topic 1: Culture, Training and Myths of US Firms in the City.
Topic 2: The Future Strategy of US Firms in London
Please be aware that this event is subject to the KCLLS Non-Attendance Policy as well as the five attending firms' internal standards for non-attendance. Read the policy to avoid being blacklisted for all future events. This event is for KCL students only. For any questions or concerns please email us here. As a general policy, we do not encourage students to skip any of their academic commitments to attend this event.
