On a residential street to the north of Canary Wharf can be found a big wooden pole, with a white horse on top.
It’s May 1949 and British Rail was showing off its latest idea to please the public – a travelling pub.
As we all (should) know, drinking on the London Underground has been strictly forbidden since 2008, but if you go back further in time, there used to be plenty of drinking on the Underground, as it used to have pubs inside the stations.
What started in 2012 as an interesting idea is back again this year as they were right about it being interesting, and popular.
