One of my favourite events to watch — and maybe one year participate in — will open for booking next Monday at noon.
Now in its sixth year, the Tweed Run is a mass cycle ride through central London in a more genteel manner than the lycra-clad speeders who usually ply the streets of our city.
Cycles range from Penny Farthings to single-gear antiques and even modern cycles are allowed in, so long as the dress sense of the participant adheres to the requirement for gentility and decorum.
Attendance is again capped at 500 discerning chaps and lasses.
The Tweed Run itself takes place on the 17th May 2014 — about a month later than usual for some reason, but hopefully better for the weather.
My review from 2010 is here.
Tickets for The London Tweed Run 2014 will be £20, with £10 of that going to the London Cycling Campaign
Tickets go on sale at 12 noon on 17 March 2014.
Surely this year’s Tweed Run is 17 May 2014 . Sorry to be pedantic!
Corrected. Thanks
