For the first time ever, performances at Regent’s Park’s Open Air Theatre will be relayed live to up to 5,000 additional ticketholders via a giant screen on the outside lawn.

And the video screen tickets are significantly cheaper than sitting in the main theatre space itself.

All tickets will be £20 unreserved – compared to seating tickets which average at £45 per person.

With social distancing reducing how many tickets the main theatre can sell, this also gives them a chance to boost ticket numbers by expanding outwards.

During the performances, five cameras will relay the production to an LED screen outside the main stage. To maintain social distancing, the lawn will be divided into individual 1.2msq areas.

Tickets for Jesus Christ Superstar: The Concert On-Screen are now on sale, and will initially be available for performances from 19 – 30 August 2020.

When considering what to wear/bring with you, remember that you will be sitting directly on the ground which may not be dry.

SUPPORT THIS WEBSITE

This website has been running now for over a decade, and while advertising revenue contributes to funding the website, it doesn't cover the costs. That is why I have set up a facility with DonorBox where you can contribute to the costs of the website and time invested in writing and research for the news articles.

It's very similar to the way The Guardian and many smaller websites are now seeking to generate an income in the face of rising costs and declining advertising.

Whether it's a one-off donation or a regular giver, every additional support goes a long way to covering the running costs of this website, and keeping you regularly topped up doses of Londony news and facts.

If you like what you read on here, then please support the website here.

Thank you
