Description

This exhibition celebrates the 450th anniversary of the granting of the Tylers and Bricklayers' Company's charter by Elizabeth I in 1568.

It traces the history of the Company from its first master in 1416 through to the Company's 21st-century aims and objectives.

It highlights the Company's most famous son, the playwright Ben Jonson, and also how the Company was instrumental in the rebuilding of the City of London after the Great Fire in 1666.
