Formed in 1940, the Special Operations Executive was an underground army that waged a secret war in enemy-occupied Europe and Asia during the Second World War. The men and women who served demonstrated incredible courage and resourcefulness in their guerrilla war.

But what were the key qualities, traits and characteristics that made these individuals such formidable operatives, especially when faced with such difficult challenges and the real possibility of capture and execution?
