A molecular tale: What fingerprints reveal about you

Fingerprints are a great way for investigators to identify a potential suspect. But, as criminals become more careful in avoiding clues that could identify them, forensic scientists need to up their game with technologies that outsmart them.

Join Simona Francese as she explores pioneering research into Matrix Assisted Laser Desorption Ionisation Mass Spectrometry (MALDI-MS). This technique can provide intelligence about criminal lifestyle. It can even reveal information about actions prior to or during crimes, simply from fingerprints left at the scene.

In this talk, discover what fingerprints can reveal about you and how they are used in real police casework to help investigators apprehend offenders.
