Did you know that freemasons have supported schools for the children of members for over 200 years?
In times when educating children was seen as a privilege for few, freemasons saw it as something to aspire to for both boys and girls of all backgrounds. By establishing their own charitable schools they supported one another and their families for generations to come.
Introduced by Interpretation Manager Jane Nielsen, our Assistant Archivist, Louise Pichel, will delve into the history of these schools, reveal stories from the records, and help you to discover your own.
