East London and Covent Garden Raspberry Jam - Big Birthday Weekend.

Welcome to the first joint East London and Covent Garden Raspberry Jam.
This is a special event as we are celebrating the Raspberry Pi's 6th birthday! 

Do you like programming and coding?
Want to learn about technology?
Do you have a Raspberry Pi, BBC Micro:bit or something else and don't know what to do with it?
This is the event for you. Everything is free :)
There will be a range of activities to choose from. 
It will run from 12:30 to 4:30. Drop in for an hour or stay for the whole event.
We are very pleased to announce that the whole venue is completely accessible to all, but the largest of wheelchairs.
 

 
Makers Academy, our hosts, have kindly offered to provide tea coffee and biscuits on the day for FREE. 

 There will be workshops, talks and drop in sessions on:
Talks

Parents Guide to Computing. Ask any questions about what schools are teaching and how you can help encourage your children. 
Using Diet Pi as a smaller alternative to the Raspbian operating system.

Drop In:

Get help setting up your Raspberry Pi.
RetroPie area – use the Raspberry Pi as a retro-gaming machine, play those funky old games.
Learn how to use Scratch and Python - Try out some activities and get some help.
Scratch  - learn this pleasant visual programming language (you will need to bring your own laptop for these)

 Workshops

A Micro:bit workshop – learn about coding these lovely devices.
Minecraft - find out how to code in Python with Minecraft skills.
Sonic Pi – coding with sounds!
