Charli Howard made headlines when she was dropped by her modelling agency for being too largedespite being medically underweight and suffering from an eating disorder. She wrote an articulate and fearless Facebook post, criticising the modelling industry’s unachievable beauty and body standards, which went viral and led to worldwide coverage. Today, Charli is one of the world’s most famous curve models, working for huge international publications like British Vogue and fronting campaigns for Nike and Mango. A passionate activist, Charli is the co-founder of the All Woman Project - an initiative that aims to display positive and un-retouched images of women in photo and video campaigns. Come to hear Charli talk about Misfit, her YA memoir, at Waterstones Piccadilly. Misfit chronicles Charli’s early life, and the beginnings of her issues with eating and anxiety, through her early modelling career, in the shadow of size zero culture and grip of bulimia, and out the otherside. Charli will be joined by Emma Gannon; journalist, author and presenter of Alt Ctrl Dlt podcast and Dr Radha; mental health expert and presenter on BBC Radio 1's Life Hacks and The Surgery. Charli, Emma and Dr Radha will be chaired by Poppy Jamie; co-founder of accessory brand Pop&Suki, mental health campaigner and host of a TEDx Conference. //
