It’s not opening until next May September, but tickets to a revamped Chelsea Flower Show are now on sale.
To deal with you know what, the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) is extending the show from the usual five days to six days, but will also offer fewer tickets for sale so that crowds can spread out.
In total, 140,000 tickets will be offered over the six days, compared to 168,500 over five days in 2019.
The event is also primarily outdoors, which helps.
Some of the 2021 highlights for the RHS Shows at Malvern, Chelsea, Hampton and Tatton will be revealed when tickets go on sale.
The show will now run from Tuesday, 18 May to Sunday, 23 May 2021 Tues 21st to Sun 26th September – and tickets will be available from here – note that the first two days are for RHS members only, so the public days are Thur-Sun.
Tip – if you want to buy plants, then book tickets for the last day – Sunday, because at 4pm a ceremonial bell is rung and the plant sell-off begins. It’s 90 minutes of pandemonium as normally prim and proper ladies scramble to get the best plants.
You can bag a great plant for a bargain – bring big strong bags.
