History of Bromley-by-Bow Tube Station

4th Jul 1987The station was closed over the weekend of 4th/5th July to allow for asbestos removal.
11th Jun 1972A new ticket hall opened on this day, along with a replacement raft over the tracks and new stairs down to the platforms.
26th Apr 1970A permanent ticket office opened on Talwin Street - replacing a temporary booking hall that was built following a fire in February 1970. The old entrance from Devons Road closed on the same day.
1st Mar 1970The station platforms were renumbered according to normal London Transport practice - westbound as Platform 1 and eastbound as Platform 2
