Enjoy special after-hours access to the exhibition, music, talks and workshops that immerse you in everything from colourful East End fashion to the glitz and glamour of Carnaby Street.

Jewish performance collective Homos and Houmous present an evening of drag, trivia, games and comedy as they bring a sense of the 1920s cabaret to the East End. The vibe will be Shabbat dinner argument meets Bette Midler doing musical stand-up in a New York bathhouse.

Learn about the 19th-century second-hand clothing trade, the history of Jewish old clothes dealers and how these compare with the contemporary issues of sustainability and ethical consumption. Hosted by Danielle Dove, Lecturer in English Literature at the University of Surrey

Get intimate with fashion history and explore the unique role of M&S and other Jewish designers in developing new styles of underwear in the 20th century. Hosted by Lorraine Topper, researcher and founding member of The Underpinnings Museum.
From the Islands to the City: A fashionable Windrush story
Discover the multigenerational stories about immigration, life in London and a shared love of fashion. This talk will build on the histories of the East End fashion trades and explore the Windrush generation tailors and designers who made their mark on British fashion. Hosted by Rianna Norbert-David, Assistant Curator at Museum of London.

Enjoy a screening of Maytime in Mayfair (1949), all about London's fashion trade.
Music
Dance along to DJ Leenda Karina (Club Minijupe) who will be spinning a mix of delicious dance floor that samples 60s psychedelia and pop, capturing the synergy between fashion and music at the time.
Film screenings
For a truly West End experience, join us for a screening of Maytime in Mayfair (1949) which tells the story of an impoverished man who becomes heir to a glamorous fashion house and features a glorious Technicolor fashion parade highlighting the response of British designers to Dior’s impactful ‘New Look’ collection. The film will be introduced by Beatrice Behlen, Senior Curator of Fashion and Decorative Arts at Museum of London.
Workshops
Drop in to workshops to create headwear that will take your outfits to the next level, with a helping hand from award-winning milliner Sahar Freemantle, whose clientele includes celebrities and royals. Her hats can be seen in productions like Downton Abbey and have been exhibited at the V&A.

Join Hosts for an introduction to the exhibition, which uncovers the major contribution of Jewish designers in making London an iconic fashion city.
