In a top-secret takeover featuring talks, activities and workshops, the Science Museum will reveal the stories that have underpinned secret communications over the course of a century and explore the future of intelligence in the digital age.
With billions of connected devices from smart phones to smart homes, securing the Internet of Things is one of the biggest challenges facing our digital lives; visitors will be able learn how to keep data safe, discover how the world of gaming can help defend against cyber-attacks and even spy on cybercriminals in real time.
Listen in on mysterious radio signals sent by spies over the past one hundred years, meet the artists using coding techniques to create works of art, or test your codebreaking skills as you attempt to save the world from an alien invasion in a Morse code escape game.
Plus, join theoretical physicist and broadcaster Jim Al-Khalili and a panel of experts as they explore the paradigm shift in computing technology to see how quantum computers will transform the future of how we process information from storing and encrypting medical data to simulating the human body and even AI.
All this and much more, including the opportunity to see our free Top Secret exhibition after hours and come face to face with never-before-seen historical technology, hand-written documents and declassified files from the collections of GCHQ and the Science Museum Group.
