As well as being a best-selling children’s author, Lewis Carroll was also a mathematics lecturer at Oxford University and managed to hide many mathematical allusions in his classic children’s tale.
Join us for this interactive evening event with the Nerds; consisting of stand-up mathematician Matt Parker, geek songstress Helen Arney, and experiments maestro Steve Mould. They will reveal the true meaning of Alice’s adventures with the Caterpillar, the Hatter and the Cheshire Cat whilst heading down a few rabbit holes of their own.
Find out how Carroll’s work is inspiring video game designers in the British Library’s Alice ‘Off the Map’ competition and go behind the scenes of the British Library’s Alice in Wonderland exhibition with resident curators.
A spectacularly and unashamedly geeky adventure into Carroll’s ‘mathmagic’ land and beyond.
Suitable for nerds and non-nerds aged 18+ as the event contains strong language and graph-ic material.
