The Frank Carter Lecture is an annual lecture in UCL Geography, established in memory of a popular former colleague, Professor Frank Carter.
This year’s Lecture will be given by Professor John Thornes, a well-known climatologist, and former member of the UCLGeography staff, with interests ranging from the prediction of freezing roads and urban air pollution to the representation of clouds by the artist John Constable.
John will examine the under-reported pollution created by railways, especially diesel trains, in London and other UK cities, and also by the London Underground.
