Description
Shakespeare published none of his plays in the his lifetime. His afterlife is in performance and the printed word.
This exhibition explores Guildhall Library’s Shakespeare collections and how they were produced: treasures on display include the First Folio, the first collected edition of his plays, contemporary writers’ quartos, and later editions of Shakespeare’s plays and poetry.
To celebrate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth, Guildhall Library is hosting an exciting week of Shakespeare-themed events.
