Description

A Curious Turn, an exhibition by Crafts Council at Habitat, explores the resurgence in automata making over the last 30 years and features works by the leading makers of these amazing moving mechanical sculptures.

The exhibition looks at the influences on these makers, such as Heath Robinson, and explores their work, uncovering exciting future possibilities for automata.

The pieces combine intricate craftsmanship and engineering to tell stories that range from the fantastical to the macabre.

A complimentary family-friendly workshop with Fire the Inventor will be hosted at Habitat Kings Road on Saturday 24th September from 2-5pm, where visitors can create their own automata.
