Lose yourself among the National Poetry Library’s collection as it shows off its hidden gems and hosts live readings, with a particular focus on the environment.
The National Poetry Library is the world’s largest public collection of modern poetry, and among those many, many words, there are many poets who have responded to the pressing need to address the environment, one of the focuses of this year’s London Literature Festival.
Our Open Day provides a chance to feast your eyes on a selection of gems from the depths of the collection.
You also have the chance to make discoveries through a range of staff picks and curated displays, including modernist classics and responses to modernism from the 100 years since the publication of TS Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land’.
From 2pm you can hear live readings from a range of contemporary poets as they respond to issues relating to the environment.
