Join George Fredenham aka “Flavour Fred” a long-term Stoke Newington resident on an informative session on wild flavour and its history around Abney Park Cemetery.
The session will be an introduction to responsible foraging in order to teach the rules and regulations, identification techniques, and the risks associated with wild food and drink. Please note we will NOT be harvesting from Abney Park. In fact, the soil is a big discussion point, and as to why will be discussed on the walk itself.
Abney Park is a statutory Local Nature Reserve and as such, foraging is not allowed on site. This walk will explain how nature pieces together and how to be respectful towards the various types of flora and biodiversity you may encounter.
This walk is for people to discover the fun in plant identification, head out to the countryside and also visit other areas where they can get close to nature.
All items that will be tasted are from private land and free from pesticides.
