The Coming of the Railway - How the Growth of the Railway has Defined Modern Harrow

Since the arrival of the first railway line in Harrow in the 1830s, it has not only transformed the landscape but changed people's lives. In that time, Harrow has gone from a town in Middlesex to an important part of north-west London suburbia.

I'll talk about the early days of the London and Birmingham Railway right up to the modern days of the London Underground, and the important events relating to the railways in our borough in that time.
