The City Law School is delighted to welcome Cherie Blair CBE QC to talk at the next City 125th Anniversary Event. This event will be chaired by Professor Andrew Stockley, Dean of The CIty Law School, who will be talking to Cherie about her life and career.

Cherie Blair is a leading barrister and Queen’s Counsel, has been a part-time judge, is an arbitrator and mediator, and has represented over 30 countries in international legal claims and disputes. She is known for her advocacy of human rights and her international work for women’s rights. She is the wife of former Prime Minister Tony Blair and after leaving Downing Street she established the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women, which has supported over 140,000 women entrepreneurs in developing economies. She is the Patron of numerous other charities, the Chancellor of the Asian University for Women, and in 2013 was awarded the CBE for services to women’s issues and charities.

This will be a unique opportunity to hear an important public figure talk about her life and career, about the importance of the law and social justice, and to hear her answer questions on topics ranging from the criminal justice system, prison reform, the constitution and how it is or isn’t working, and the struggle for equality and human rights.

A reception for all guests will follow the main event.
