Discover the amazing stories behind the people, places and events that once made up London's Italian quarter - Little Italy!
During the 19th Century the Italian population in London grew in one part of the capital, so much so, that the area became known as ‘Little Italy’.
Back due to popular demand, Tudor Allen returns to Finsbury Library to tell the fascinating story of the Italian Quarter in Holborn and Clerkenwell from the time of the first Italian settlers to the last days of the community in the late-20th Century.
Tudor Allen is author of Little Italy: the story of London's Italian Quarter and archivist at Camden Local Studies and Archives Centre.
This event is part of the Italians in Islington Festival 2019, organised by Islington Library and Heritage Service in partnership with the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art.
