An evening lecture by Olenka Horbatsch, curator of Rembrandt: thinking on paper.
A prolific painter, printmaker and draftsman, Rembrandt van Rijn (1606-1669) is among the best-loved artists of seventeenth-century Holland. His ceaseless experimentation is particularly evident in his printmaking: he manipulated his copperplates, experimented with inks, and used unconventional papers, which resulted in unprecedented atmospheric effects and singular impressions.
