How can we tackle the homelessness crisis?

The Social Market Foundation, the ESRC’s Ask the Expert series, the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology (POST), and Sense about Science are delighted to invite you to a special panel discussion on how to tackle homelessness.
We will hear from a panel of expert academics and charity representatives, and bring you the best evidence and policy ideas on what works in homelessness prevention. Panellists will include experts from the UK Collaborative Centre for Housing Evidence (CaCHE), Professor Suzanne Fitzpatrick (Heriot-Watt University) and Dr Peter Mackie (Cardiff University), Matt Downie, Policy Director at Crisis, and a political representative (tba). The discussion will be chaired by SMF director, James Kirkup and will include an audience Q & A.
The event is taking place as part of Evidence Week in UK Parliament, which is an initiative of Sense about Science, the Commons Science and Technology Committee, the House of Commons Library, and POST.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
If you are using public transport, the nearest tube station is Westminster. You can access the Houses of Parliament via the Portcullis House Visitor Entrance.
What can I bring into the event?
Please note that airport-style searches are in place at the Houses of Parliament.You should allow twenty minutes to clear security.
You are not permitted to bring the following items:Sharp items e.g. knives (including Swiss army knives) scissors, cutlery and screwdriversPaint sprayPadlocks, chains and climbing gearItems that make a noise (e.g. whistles)Banners, placards and flags. Liquids that are not in sealable containers
